I've set up Dell Photo AIO Printer 922 and attached it to my Vista Ultimate 64 machine. I've set permissions so that I can see the XP machine over the network and the XP machine can see the Vista machine over the network.īut for some reason when I tried to install the X86 drivers on the vista machine it broke my ability to print from the Vista machine. I had to go restore my system just to get the ability to print to the USB printer attached to my Vista machine. Select the name of the printer, and then choose Remove. Open Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners. Make sure your printer is on and connected to your PC. My guess is that I either have the wrong drivers (they are they drivers from the Disk that came with the Dell printer). If your printer isn't responding, you may need to remove it and reinstall it so Windows can download and install the proper drivers. Vista thought that the drivers from the disk were ok but installing the drivers from the disk Or I'm missing something about networking an XP machine to a vista 64 machine. I'm very confused about what to do to fix this. ![]() I've tried making a new port on the XP machine but that doesn't get me printing. XP can see my printer on the Vista machine. for X86 OSes I only have the driver that came on the disk that came with the Dell Photo AIO Printer 922. The XP machine has the drivers that came with the printer installed.
